The rosewood star in sits in a field of cherry. A combination I think works very nicely. The next ring is Makore (aka african cherry). It picks up the brown of the rosewood perfectly! The outermost ring is birds-eye maple. Which highlights the star in the center perfectly! The flip side is all Makore - a wonderful backdrop to a special serving bowl, or vase!
